The WTA Conference empowered our organization by providing a space to connect with transport professionals. Together, we identified concrete actions to improve the road network we oversee. The primary takeaway was that while current policies are adequate, immediate implementation is needed. This includes constructing more footbridges, ensuring continuous walkways, and enhancing pedestrian safety.
Join the 8th Women and Transport (WTA) Africa Conference 2026 from December 2nd-4th, 2026 in Nairobi Kenya, a Flagship Continental and International High-level Convening designed to accelerate people-centered, gender-responsive, inclusive, and climate-resilient transport systems across Africa. The conference will bring together governments, development partners, private-sector actors, researchers, financiers, and grassroots mobility actors to address persistent structural inequalities embedded within Africa’s mobility systems.
